I'm busy writing today and wasn't planning to blog, but my Number One Son just called from Chicago and told me about the devastating thunderstorms that have been wreaking havoc in that city. Apparently, trees are down everywhere. Big trees. Yesterday he was helping some neighbors move one off a squashed car when a photographer for the Tribune stopped by.
My kid is the guy in black bike shorts. He looks very manly in the photo--but didn't anyone have a chainsaw?
Have a great weekend, everyone. And if you're in Chicago, don't walk under any big trees today. I hear you're in for some more bad weather.

Hey Brenda! I was looking at the pictures. Is this the one of your son??

Yep, that's the one
Not anymore. They've moved it again--and every time I try to find it they ask me to register.
No, thank you. I'm sick of newspaper sites that keep stories up for a few hours until bloggers link to them, then move the story and require registration to access it.
Wow, I thought we had it bad yesterday (I'm in the Detroit area).
Your son does look very manly. You must be proud!
Best,
~Carol
These freaky storms are giving me a lot of material for my WIP...The agent I met at Phila two weeks ago said I needed to add 20,000 words...With all of this strange weather, I'm on it!
Thanks to the Lord for protecting your son during such bad storms. That one photo of the tree split in half...wow! That's a powerful storm, and close to your son?!
Yes, becky, there was a microburst just across the street from his place. It did quite a lot of damage, but I don't think anyone was hurt in that, thank the Lord.
Yes, Carol, I think my son is pretty special. (Both of them are, actually, but I'm not allowed to talk about the younger on on this blog.)
