Photo: Lady's Slipper Orchid

We just got home from Washington, and I'm looking through some of the pictures we took. I love the gorgeous colors and graceful form of this Lady's Slipper orchid, which we saw Saturday afternoon in the conservatory of The United States Botanic Garden. (Click the photo to make the orchids "grow"--you simply must see these things up close!)

Have a great Monday, everyone. I might post again later, but my "to do" list is alarmingly long today. In the meantime, you might want to check out my first monthly column at Romancing the Blog.

I'll leave you with another photo taken at the U.S. Botanic Gardens (click to enlarge it):

Tristan, I don't dispute that you're a genius with PhotoShop. But I like all that dazzling sunlight.

Favorite sister, if you want to contribute one of your photos to this page, e-mail it to me. (Just don't send that one where I'm grinning like a goof. Send one of the capitol dome or something like that.)
