Don't get too excited, your boss isn't likely to give you the day off work. There's actually no such thing as Blog Appreciation Day outside of Brendaland, which is where you are right now. But if somebody wants to start a serious movement, that's fine with me. You might want to consider choosing a name that makes a classier-sounding acronym than "BAD", however.
Last week CNN.com reported on a Gallup poll showing that although three-quarters of Americans use the internet, only 26% were familiar with blogs and only 7% say they read blogs at least a few times a week.
How about that? You're way cooler than you imagined. You're a trendsetter, part of that adventurous 7% of Americans Who Read Blogs. Hooray for you and hooray for blogs!
I have proclaimed this Blog Appreciation Day here in Brendaland. If you'd like to celebrate BAD, leave a comment below and tell everyone about the blogs you enjoy reading. Post a couple of good links and tell us why we should click on 'em. And if you have a blog, go ahead and toot your own horn. Just keep it all family-friendly, please. My little sister and one of my kids reads this stuff.

Oh, come on. I can't believe nobody wants to promote a blog today.
Are you all asleep, or what?
;-)
Not a sleep, just a headache ;-D
I wonder what portion of that 7% are blog addicts - people who visit the blogs they love several times a day, just to see if there are new comments.
My blog's http://writingchristiannovels.blogspot.com - click on the link "Christian Novels" on Brenda's sidebar, under "Nice People" (makes me feel so special). One blog (out of the many) I visit a lot is Lisa Samson's Author Intrusion. There's a link to the site (and many others) on my blog.
Thanks, Brenda, for BAD, and here's hoping it will become a monthly (or at least annual) holiday.
Hey Brenda,
Sorry I got to the party late, the comments window wasn't working for me earlier.
Blogs I read:
The blogs written by most of the regulars from the message boards at f*i*f, as well as the Infuze contributors
SciFiDailyThe Short of ItThe Master's Artist(which has a lot of f*i*f contributors contributing)
Church Marketing Sucksand

Katie, you are special.
Chris is special, too, but it looks like he got in a hurry and messed up on a couple of his links. ;-) "SciFi Daily" and "The Master's Artist", I know. But what's "The Short of It"?
I'm having a very busy day right now, but I am definitely going to check out that site about church marketing, if nothing else....
7%, huh? wow.
I have about 10 blogs that I check everyday. sometimes several times a day. Yours being one of them. kinda missed yesterday though. =) and then I have another 10 blogs that I check every couple days.
I also enjoy writing in my blog. not that I am as good at writing in it everday like you are yours.
Hey, it worked in Preview.
The Short of It is a blog on short stories, primarily mysteries, but with some industrywatch as well.
