Yesterday in the garden

Picked up this jazzy red watering can over the weekend. Just looking at it makes me grin.

Yesterday I sat on the bench in my front garden and stared for a good ten minutes at these shocking blue irises with their bright slashes of yellow. We planted just six last autumn because I wasn't sure they'd do well in this spot. Now I can't wait to get more.

If you're viewing this on a large monitor, you'll notice the patio is all weedy. I like the bits of bright green moss, but the weeds have got to go. (I'll get my hunk o' burnin' love right to work on that!)

I've forgotten the name of this rose, but isn't it a beautiful color?

These delicate blue campanulas just don't photograph well. This is the best I could do.

Welcome, summer!

Hi Brenda!
Your garden is beautiful! My mom and grandmother would be incredibly jealous of you. Our gardens don't look like that quite yet in Vermont! I hope you continue to enjoy your summer weather.
Hannah(Yes, this is the Hannah who still has to email you back!)

Hi, Brenda. : ) By the way, I love your profile picture! Hahaha! You look very happy...

Guess what!!?? I emailed you something! What a good girl I am...although it's not quite finished...sorry, that doesn't make any sense! Just check it out!

Also, where do you live, if you don't mind my asking? Your gardens are amazing! Although, I suppose our weather hasn't been great, which could be why our gardens still aren't up yet. Hmmmm....

I loved your motto; "No rules. Just write.", and great garden :)

Brenda,

Oh wow ... you have a garden to weep for! Do you do a lot of your writing there?

Sierra, the patio is known around here as my summer office. ;-)

Jennifer, my thumb is not green. I actually don't consider myself a gardener, but merely someone who needs flowers so desperately that she'll do what she has to in order to get them!

Orkun, many thanks for stopping by.

Hannah, I'm behind on my e-mail again, but I'll look for your message and answer you from there.

For someone who doesn't have a "green thumb", you would never know!! I would do all of my schoolwork and writing if our gardens looked like that!

Your garden is jewelry to the eyes! What a refreshing place to escape and dream of the next words to put down on paper.
Blessings to you!
