I'm in the mood for love poems today because the winner of this season's first-rose-to-bloom race in my garden was the perfectly-formed, incredibly fragrant Mr. Lincoln, which popped open just this morning. I like white roses best, but this one is my own hunk o' burnin' love's favorite, so it will always have a place in our garden.

Have you ever heard Rene Clausen's arrangement of Frost's poem? Beautiful. There are a few videos circulating on the internet of it. One of my favorite pieces of chamber music, b/c it's harmonies are just so juicy.
Also, do you have any recommendations on "gardening for dummies" books? Besides "Gardening for Dummies," I mean? ;)

Sorry, I can't rec any good gardening books. I progress by trial and error. I've wasted all kinds of money by doing things wrong in my garden.

I didn't dig around TOO deeply to find the best choir on there, but this one does a pretty good job. The harm are just so juicy and warm. I love it! Sang it a lot when I was in chamber choirs in college and high school. Hope you enjoy:)
