New book video: At His Command

Oops, I did it again. Made another book trailer, that is. Have a look and then let me know what you think:

I've posted the book's cover image and some "buy" links in the sidebar. There's also a link to my website, where you can read most of the first chapter.

UPDATE: Several people have asked my permission to post this video on their blogs. Anyone who would like to post it is not only welcome, but will have my undying gratitude!

Just grab YouTube's "embed" code, which you'll see on the video screen after the video has finished playing. Paste that into a blog post and you'll be good to go. (Blogger users, remember to paste into the "Edit HTML" screen and not the "Compose" screen.)

The trailer was hilarious! (In a good way, a great way, of course.) If I wasn't already planning to buy the book, I would be now.

Great job!

Hi Brenda,

This trailer was so fun! It makes me want to buy the book. I've enjoyed all your others, so I will be looking for this one too.

You are quite clever to get around all the legal stuff in such a fun way.

Blessings,
Carrie T.

Fabulous book trailer! Love your voice and your wry wit and the perfect combination of homespun and winking-wise smart-stuff.

And I'll watch to see if you get squashed by "the man" (or the Canadian version of "The Man") (aka: "the man-eh?") before I make and release my own book trailer. Heh.

Congrats! Can't wait to read it.

I love it! Is it copyrighted? *g* I'm posting it on my blog.

I was directed to your trailer by Deb Salonen who posted it on the eHarlequin community site. I LOVE the trailer and fully intend on buying the book. In fact it is in my order from Harlequin right now.

Sheri, thanks for the warm fuzzies on my book and the video. And thanks for telling people about them!

Laura and Carrie, thank you for your support.

Betina, all I did was show a photo of a box of books. What can they do to me?

Apshokes, thank you. Hope you enjoy the book.

Cheryl, you're a peach. Please do post it on your blog.

Ellen, it sounds like I owe a thank-you to Deb. And thank you for ordering the book.

GREAT trailer!! I have to figure out how to make these...

Thanks, Trudy.

Last summer I posted these step-by-step instructions for making a book trailer: http://brendacoulter.blogspot.com/2007/06/promoting-your-novel-how-to-make-book.html

Have fun!

Sorry. Let's make that link clickable, shall we?

That was fantastic! By the way, I did receive you book and plan on reading it very soon.

That's great, Chad. Thanks.

I hope all of "my" bloggers got their books. I mailed 40, and 35 of them came back to me, postage due! I had to cart them all back to the post office and send them again. Aargh!

That was great! And yes, I'm very curious about the three-legged cat and the hunky cowboy. :)

That trailer was too funny! Congratulations on the beautiful book.
P.S. Thanks for putting a cat in.

Ok, I've finished my review of your book on my blog. I hope I wasn't too harsh.

Brenda Coulter said...

Don't worry, Chad. As I said before, while I hope people do like the book, I'm not afraid of honest evaluations. Anything blog post that gets the book talked about is a good blog post. So thank you.

Jennifer and AC, thanks for the nice comments. I just hope cat lovers can take a joke, because nobody in that book likes cats....
;-)

Brenda Coulter said...

Of course that should be, "Any blog post that gets a book talked about..."

Sheesh.

Me? Rascal? Perish the thought. ;-)

If the shoe fits, Chad...

Okay, you've talked me into it. Who could resist dimples and a three-legged cat? Hope your book debut is all you hope it will be!

God bless.

Kate

What a wonderful trailer. Best I've seen by far. I "stole" the HTML code--as you said that would be okay--and will feature it on my blog along with a link back to your How To Create a Video post. The post will appear on 13 January, 2010. Thanks for your permission.

Additionally, I'd like to use some of the techniques you used in this video, they are just too clever. Thanks so much and very, very well done.

Best Wishes Galen.

Tried to watch the trailer but am told it is private. How did anyone who commented see this so as to make a comment? Also, the GodTube things is apparently only good for PCs, not tablets etc.
