A few good words

Several years ago, my Number One Son suggested that "splendid" was the nicest word in the English language. I agreed, and I still haven't found a word I like better.

I subscribe to the RSS feed for Dictionary.com's Word of the Day because it often gives me a laugh or teaches me something. And when I need to kick back and relax for a few minutes, I play a game or two of Scrabble against a robot at Scrabulous.com. I don't often win, because the robot cheats by using some spellings that would make even the most "creative" first-grader blush with shame. And here's a funny thing: the robot is a poor loser. If you manage to win a game, it says something like, "The robot wins by -71 points."

What word games do you play?

I play Boggle...not on the computer though. I've gotten my mom hooked on the game - and at first she didn't want to play; now she's constantly asking me if I want to play Boggle!

On my daughter's Webkinz, I like to play Quizzy's Word challenge. LOL! (It's like Boggle with no timer)

My favorite word game is Boggle. I'm the reigning Boggle champ in my house. This game helped my boys with spelling when they were learning to read. We have travel Boggle that stays in the car for road trips or long waits in restaurants.

On the computer, I've played a few Yahoo games like Bookworm and Twist Text (I think that's the name of it. It's been a while.)

I've heard of Boggle, of course, but I've never played it. Maybe I'll have to put that on my To Do list.
