NaNoWriMo roll call

We're nine days into National Novel Writing Month. Who wants to report on their progress?

I've lurked here for a while now. I've never commented before, but what the heck?

I'm doing NaNoWriMo and I'm about 8,000 words in. But I'm not killing myself trying to reach 50,000, honestly. I took a year off from writing to plan my wedding, but since the wedding I haven't been able to make myself sit down and write. I figured NaNo would get me back in the habit of writing every day. So far it's working, so my goal is already met.

12,087 words as of this minute, and I'd like to reach 13,000 by tonight. I'm not going to put this much effort in and not reach at least 50,000. I am behind, though, but determined to catch up.

My last post on my blog was about the joys and sorrows of NaNoWriMo:

Love the blog - although I am mainly a lurker myself.

Making good progress on NaNo - and will catch up my word count by the end of the day (fingers crossed). So far, I'm sitting at about 12800+ words.

Hey, cool. I flushed out a couple of lurkers.

Thanks, friends, for taking time away from your NaNoWriMo novels to comment here.

As of today I'm at 27,000 words. More than halfway there! The reason I'm working so hard is because I want to be done before our vacation to the beach on the 22nd of November!

Just shy of 17,000 words after an insanely busy first 9 days of November. I'm expecting things to calm down and my word count to flow faster starting this weekend.

The only teensy problem now is that while I am fascinated by my story, I am pretty sure it will be dull as dishwater to anyone else. I'm trying not to let that deter me at the moment though ... that kind of thinking really gets in the way of NaNo productivity!

Hi,

I'm doing NaNoWriMo, too. My novel is called Nikolas and Simone. Right now I'm slightly past 15,000 words. Of course, since I do not outline, I have no clue what to write next but I am loving figuring it out day to day.

Wow! I'm a first time entrant and I'm impressed with all you. I was thrilled at completing 3,000+ words so far. I like what I've written, and I'm seeing benefits I never dreamed of before. It feels like an IMPORTANT thing I do. I wonder if anyone else will identify? Maybe not if you're already writers.

Ugh! I'm behind...but I'll catch up by the end of the weekend....it's titled "The Orion Reliquery!"

I'm not doing NaNoWriMo, but I fell into a 16-hour writing jag yesterday. I got up from my desk a few times to stretch, and I enjoyed the dinner my husband cooked, and I came online a few times, but I wrote my heart out all day long. Didn't call it quits until 4:15 a.m.

We are crazy people. All of us.

I'm a day late, but I checked... and as of the end of the day yesterday (11/9) I had 16,663 words written.

I'm right on track and headed for the winners circle! Woo!

Woo! indeed, Marianne. Here's hoping you all have a great writing weekend.

How do you people have time to read blogs during NaNoWriMo! I think this is my first time back since the beginning of the month. But I'm pleased to report that I'm at 25,329 words!

See you in December . . .

C'mon, Julie, surely you've figured out that this blog is like the office water cooler. Yes, these people have more important things to do than hanging out here, but a little goofing off never hurt a writer. (I like to call goofing off "imagination building.")
