These lilies have a wonderful vanilla-y fragrance. But the ones I really love are the Stargazer lilies. They won't open for another week or two, but their scent is just amazing. That's why I planted them along the front walk.
I did have a great weekend, Ms. Creativity. Thanks.
It can be expensive, Audra, no question. But if any of your friends are gardeners, believe me, they will be happy to give you starts of plants and tell you how to care for them. The great thing about perennials is that they can be divided every year--and they'll double in size, at the very least. One of my favorite plants began as something I could hold in the palm of one hand. Five years later, it's everywhere in my garden.
(Sorry--I cut myself off before I finished.) That plant was a freebie, a gift from a neighbor I barely knew. When I admired the plant in her garden, she grabbed a hand spade and gave me a chunk to take home. Happens all the time. You really can make a garden without spending money. You'll just have to wait a few years for everything to grow and spread.

Those are beautiful! I only have the orange ones. The moles keep eating the bulbs for all of my other ones *sigh*.
They are so gorgeous and inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you've had a great weekend too.
Sue :-)
Pretty flowers. Lilies are one of my favourites.

I really wish I could plant a beautiful garden...finances say no for this year.
