Where have all the writers gone?

Gone to NaNo, every one.
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

It's a shame I'm not observing NaNoWriMo, because I think their emblem is charming. Of course, not being a registered participant, I'm not supposed to use this image on my blog. But the NaNoWriMo folks are a bit laid-back when it comes to rules, and even if they weren't, they're too busy writing novels to bother sending cease-and-desist letters to smart-alecky infringers like yours truly.

But hooray for all of you who are writing your hearts out this month. If any of you come up for air long enough to read this post, why not leave a comment and tell us how your novel is coming? And if you're blogging about the experience, be sure to give us your link.

Delightful bit of doggerel there.

It's coming right along, thank you. I've done more than 12,000 words, so I'm more or less on track.

Well, I'm a little over 10,000 words. I've fallen behind but not giving up!

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I've almost reached the 20,000 mark but I'm sad to say I've fallen victim to that mean two week slump where I don't feel like writing, AT ALL. I'm nothing if not determined though so I'll trudge ahead and hope that some of what I'm writing is actually decent.

I'm at 11,000. I went on retreat for the weekend and got behind. I'll pick it up this week!
