Shakedown

Last night I added three of my favorite "writing" quotes to this page. They're over there, on the right-hand side. Scroll down a little. See 'em?

I bet a lot of you writers (published and un-) have copied down one or two little gems like those for your own inspiration. Well, it's time to share. So empty your pockets and unfold those little scraps of paper and let us all see the words that have inspired you.

By the way, you do not have to set up a Blogger account to post here. Just click on the option for "anonymous" and leave your quote.

"To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour." -Oscar Wilde

This pretty much says all.
Love the 'James Michener' quote you've put in.

I'm glad you posted, Anshula, and I hope you'll forgive me for correcting you. I'm sure you were suffering from a temporary brain glitch, but we don't want to lead our friends astray, do we?

It wasn't Oscar Wilde you were quoting, but the first lines of William Blake's Auguries of Innocence. It's a favorite of mine, too.

Heather, "No rules. Just write." may be a silly corruption of Outback Steakhouse's marketing slogan, but it is profoundly meaningful to me. I'm glad you like it.

Thanks for the correction Brenda. More on the lines of a copy-paste glitch. :-)
